Kindle Cannot Open the Transfer Page or Download a Book?

Troubleshoot Bookify Wi-Fi connections, local network permission, QR pairing, missing books and interrupted Kindle downloads.

Quick answer

First identify whether import, connection or download failed. If the page will not open, keep Bookify on Transfer, check the same Wi-Fi, local network permission and the complete address, then try a regular home network. A book on the phone is not yet a Kindle download.

Identify the failing stage

Symptom First check
Import fails and the book never reaches Bookify File completeness and supported format
Kindle cannot open the transfer page Wi-Fi, the transfer service, local network permission and address
QR pairing completes but no book list opens Refresh pairing or try the current local address
The list opens but a book is missing Kindle setting, output format and page filters
Download starts and stops Keep Transfer open and check for network changes

If the page will not open

  1. Keep the service available. Return to Transfer in Bookify and check the current address. Keep this screen open during downloading.
  2. Check local network permission. Search for Local Network in iPhone Settings, allow Bookify access, then return to the app.
  3. Check Wi-Fi. Connect both devices to the same regular home network. Avoid guest Wi-Fi. Internet access alone is not a local connectivity test.
  4. Use the current address. After changing networks or restarting transfer, read the address again. Include http:// and the port number.
  5. Check isolation. On mesh or multi-router networks, try connecting both devices through the same node, or test another regular Wi-Fi network.

If your VPN or proxy routes local traffic, check its local-network setting. Change one thing at a time and retry so you can identify what helped.

If QR pairing does not open the book list

Refresh pair.bookify.top on Kindle and scan the new QR code with Bookify. Keep the phone on Transfer. If pairing loads but the book list does not, check local connectivity or use manual connection with the current local address.

Successful pairing does not mean a book was transferred. You still need to select Download on Kindle.

If a book is missing from the list

Confirm that Kindle is selected in Bookify and clear search or format filters on the page. Check that the bookshelf file is in a compatible Kindle format.

If the file format is not suitable for Kindle, keep the original file, select Kindle and import it again. See EPUB format handling for AZW3 and MOBI output.

If downloading stops or the book is hard to find

Keep Bookify on Transfer and try a smaller book. If every file fails, investigate the connection. If only one fails, check its source and conversion result.

After downloading, look for the title in the Kindle library and check whether a library filter hides documents. Open the actual book to confirm success; the phone bookshelf and pairing message alone do not prove delivery.

Older devices and persistent problems

A Kindle with an unusable browser cannot complete this local download workflow. See transfer options for older Kindles. A factory reset is not a first-line connection troubleshooting step.

For help, email [email protected] with your phone and Kindle models, Bookify version, failing step, exact error and whether other small files work. For import issues, you can optionally submit a problem book.

Questions You May Have

Both devices have internet. Why can they not connect?

Internet access does not prove local connectivity. Guest Wi-Fi, client isolation or separate network nodes can prevent two devices from communicating.

Can I leave Bookify during a download?

Keep the Transfer screen open until downloading finishes. Backgrounding the app, leaving Transfer or a system pause can interrupt the service.

Could the ebook itself be the problem?

Yes. If other small files download correctly and only one fails, check that file, its format and the exact error separately.
